Andrea is trained in Adaptive Yoga by Matthew Sanford of Mind Body Solutions in Minnetonka, Minnesota. Matthew is a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher. Matthew has been paralyzed from the chest down since the age of 13. The program at Mind Body Solutions is called Opening Yoga to everyone. This groundbreaking program emphasizes the experience within poses, not simply their physical accomplishments. The awareness moves through the mind-body relationship both with and without muscular action.

You won't believe how much yoga you can do sitting or standing! In chair yoga you'll be sitting in a chair or standing with the support of the chair or the wall. The poses will be adapted for your individual needs.
You will gain strength, flexibility, and balance in both body and mind. You will learn body awareness and alignment, good posture, linking your movement to your breath, and different breathing techniques for stress relief and optimal health. In a chair yoga class you can expect the teacher to give options to poses which will meet your needs. You'll also be supported through the use of a number of different props including chairs, bolsters, straps, blocks and blankets. Our teachers have specialized training through Boomer's Plus by Amy Kraft. These classes offer much more than big gym classes can. Come and see for yourself!
